MEALS SHOULD BE PROTEIN AND FIBER-WEIGHTED, ESPECIALLY SIMPLE CARBOHYDRATE CONSUMPTION SHOULD BE AVOIDED. FOR A BALANCED MEAL, HALF OF YOUR PLATE SHOULD CONSIST OF A PROTEIN-HEAVY MAIN MEAL, ¼ OF A SALAD AND ¼ OF CEREALS.
Sample Diet List
Sample Diet List: IFTAR
Break the fast with water and drink 1 glass of warm water slowly and in small sips.
20 minutes after drinking water, ½ small bowl of soup (soups without flour, bouillon, cream, butter...)
30 minutes after the soup;
3-4 tablespoons of vegetable dish with meat or olive oil (no potatoes, carrots, peas).
3 tablespoons of yogurt without cream
OR
60 g meatballs/chicken/fish (after prolonged fasting, do not consume meat products with a hard and solid consistency)
Salad (house vinegar can also be added)
OR
3-4 tablespoons of dried legumes (I recommend pouring out the boiling water and re-cooking them due to the possibility of gas formation)
3 tablespoons of home yogurt
Sample Diet List: MIDDLE MEAL 1
1 cup of herbal tea
1 covered handful of unroasted oil seeds (after 30 min)
Sample Diet List: SNACK MEAL 2
1 cup plain kefir
2-3 strawberries or half rings of pineapple
Blend with 1 teaspoon of flaxseed
Sample Diet List: SAHUR
1 egg or omelet made from 1 egg
1 slice of white fat-free cheese
2 walnuts
1 cherry tomato and 2 slices of cucumber
1 thin slice of toasted whole wheat bread or whole wheat breadcrumbs
Sahur should be tried to be completed 1 hour before the call to prayer so that you start drinking water after 30 minutes and consume 2 cups of warm water at least until the call to prayer.
Portions and recommendations may vary in individual treatment.
