He was born in 1975 in Eğirdir, Isparta. He studied Mining Engineering at Akdeniz University between 1991-1994. In 2000, he graduated from Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Medicine. He worked as a general practitioner in Tokat Resadiye State Hospital between 2000-2002. Between 2002-2004, he worked as a general practitioner at Islamköy Health Centre in Isparta. In 2003, he served his military service as a Medical Lieutenant in Artvin Hopa Border Company. In 2004, he started his speciality training in the 3rd General Surgery Clinic at İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital and completed his speciality training in 2010 with his thesis titled "The Effect of a Simple and Economic Laparoscopic Training Box Model on the Learning Curve of Surgical Assistants".
After completing his compulsory state service in Konya Bozkır State Hospital in 2011-2012, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Izmir Medicalpark Hospital and Izmir University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery in 2012-2014. He worked at Izmir Private Karataş Hospital between June 2014 and April 2016. He worked at Izmir Private Ekol Hospital for a while. Since 2016, he has been working at Izmir Sada Hospital.
Op. Dr. Türker Karabuğa, who has been interested in Laparoscopic Surgery and Obesity Surgery since his assistant years, gave his graduation thesis in this field. In addition, he has a total of 7 patents to be used in obesity treatment and to increase the safety of sleeve gastrectomy surgery and to reduce the risks of surgery.
Op. Dr Türker Karabuğa, who has many publications and articles in national and international journals, many oral and written papers in many congresses, has participated in many national and international congresses and courses especially on obesity and has received degrees and awards in some of them.
In 2009, he won the second place in the 5th Surgical Research Congress with his poster paper "Hanger-Needle Designed for Gallbladder Traction During Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy".
In 2011, he won the first prize in the 6th Surgical Research Congress with "Hanger-Needle Designed for Gallbladder Traction During Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy" and again in 2011, he won the second prize in the Aegean Surgery Days "Innovation Technology and Inventor Surgeons", Patent Competition with "Laparoscopic Stone Collection Forceps".
